Virginia Beach, VA: Precision Motorcycle

Finding a good motorcycle shop when traveling across thousands of miles can be a life saver, and it turned out that Sash found a really good one in Precision Motorcycle.

The day after we got into Norfolk, VA, we needed to take her bike in to get the chain cleaned and tightened, oil changed, and the steering column bearings replaced. Even though there were several dealer shops in the area, I didn't want to rush out to one. I wanted to know if there was a better independent shop. And after reading several great reviews on Yelp and Google Places, Precision Motorcycle seemed like a place we couldn't pass up.

It turned out we were right.

After taking the bike in, we were contacted by members of Tidewater Bikers, a local motorcycle group, who invited us to their annual picnic just a couple of days away. It was at the picnic that were told Precision Motorcycle was the hands down, best motorcycle shop to go to. Members of Tidewater Bikers take their bikes there, and we learned of other local clubs who rely on their staff for wrenching.

It took Precision Motorcycle four days to get all the parts ordered, get them put on, and back running again, and it only took that long because it ran over a weekend.  Steve, the owner of Precision Motorcycle, even gave her bike a good looking over to make sure nothing else was missed, and didn't give her any kind of hard sell on replacing other parts that didn't need replacing.

And considering we live in a day when dealers can sell bikes at a low profit margin and then get you down the road with expensive and frivolous repair work, it's refreshing to find a honest shop that'll get the job done and have it done on time.

It turns out that Precision Motorcycle is a place you can trust and rest assured you're not going to get taken down the road, and they're not going to waste time getting the job done.

So, any of you riders who live in or near the eastern part of Virginia, and you need some work done on your motorcycle, give Precision Motorcycle a chance to impress you.

All makes and models worked on, American or metric, cruiser, sportbike, and dirt, it doesn't matter.

And of course, tell them Road Pickle sent you.

  1. Nothing better than a great bike, a great trip, and a great bike shop on the road! Southerners do rock, too. You can't deny that. Kudos to Precision and to you for letting the world know what's up. Ride safe, ride often!

  2. Hands down, the best motorcycle shop you could ever visit. More experience, more reliable, better experience than any "big name" shop around. Great job Steve, keep up the great work.
